1Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is OBRASUR HORIZONTE SpA ("Outbase Overland", "we"), tax ID (RUT) 78.242.263-4, based in Punta Arenas, Magallanes Region, Chile.

2What data we collect

We only collect the data you provide through our forms and contact channels:

a) When you request a quote

• Full name.
• WhatsApp number and email address.
• Pickup and return dates and locations, and the add-ons you're interested in.
• Any comments you choose to include about your trip.

b) When you confirm your booking

• Main driver and additional passenger details: name, nationality, country of residence, date of birth, email and phone.
• Passport or ID document number and driver's license number (with issuing country and expiry).
• Copies or photos of your passport and driver's license, which you upload voluntarily.
• Flight details, emergency contact and, if you choose to share it, any medical condition or allergy relevant to the trip.

c) Technical data

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate and anonymously, how the site is used (page views, traffic sources, form interactions) and improve it. We do not use this data to personally identify you or for advertising. When loading fonts and the destinations map, your browser also connects to third-party services (see section 5), which may record basic technical data such as your IP address.

3Sensitive data and consent

Identity documents and information about medical conditions are considered sensitive data. We only process them with your explicit consent, which you give by checking the corresponding box and submitting the booking-confirmation form.

4Why we use your data and on what legal basis

• To handle your quote and reply to you — basis: your request and pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
• To prepare and perform the rental contract (driver documentation, vehicle handover, insurance) — basis: performance of the contract.
• To arrange the crossing into Argentina and related paperwork — basis: performance of the contract and compliance with legal obligations.
• To process identity documents and medical data — basis: your explicit consent.
• To comply with legal, tax and safety obligations — basis: legal obligation.

We do not use your data for advertising or automated decision-making.

5Who we share it with

We do not sell or trade your data. We only share it with providers that help us operate, acting as data processors and only on our instructions:

• Google (Google Apps Script, Google Sheets and Google Drive): store the requests and the documents you upload.
• Google (Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics): aggregate site usage analytics.
• Netlify: hosts the website.
• Authorities or public bodies, where there is a legal obligation (for example, for the border crossing).

6International transfers

Our providers (Google, Netlify) may store and process data on servers located outside Chile, including the United States. In those cases we seek to ensure appropriate safeguards under applicable law to protect your information.

7How long we keep it

We keep your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described and to meet our legal obligations:

• Quote requests that do not lead to a booking: kept for a reasonable time to handle your enquiry, then deleted or anonymized.
• Booking data and identity documents: kept for the duration of the relationship and the applicable legal period, and identity documents are deleted once their purpose is fulfilled.

When we no longer need them, we delete them securely.

8How we protect your data

We apply reasonable measures to protect your information: encrypted transmission (HTTPS), access restricted to the people handling your booking, and use of platforms with recognized security standards. No system is 100% infallible, but we work to minimize the risks.

9Your rights

You can exercise your rights over your personal data at any time:

• Access: know what data we hold about you.
• Rectification: correct inaccurate or outdated data.
• Erasure / deletion: ask us to delete your data.
• Objection: object to certain processing.
• Portability and restriction: where applicable law provides for it (for example, GDPR for EU residents).

To exercise them, write to outbasechile@gmail.com. We will respond within the legal deadlines. If you believe we have not handled your request well, you may complain to the competent data protection authority (in Chile, the body established by Law 21.719; in the EU, your supervisory authority; in Brazil, the ANPD).

10Minors

Our service is intended for people over 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us to delete it.

11Cookies and similar technologies

We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager) to measure site usage in aggregate. We do not use advertising cookies. The third-party services we load (Google fonts and the destinations map) may use technical cookies necessary to function. You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
